Jim has worked in public accounting for over 25 years and specializes primarily in tax and consultation services. His career first began at Arthur Andersen, then he went on to own and operate his own small firm for 12 years. Jim has also been intricately involved in several Portland-area start-up companies and has a diverse skill set including financial accounting, operational consulting, and trust and estate planning. He has also worked directly with structuring mergers and acquisitions, including tax planning for small corporations and shareholders as well as executive compensation and stock option planning. Jim is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Oregon Society of CPAs.
A University of Portland graduate, Jim loves to explore areas around the Pacific Northwest — whether it’s mountain biking through Hood River or Bend, hiking in the gorgeous terrain of the Columbia River Gorge, fishing on the Rogue River near his family cabin, or trying out a new craft beer at one of the many breweries in Oregon, Jim enjoys an active lifestyle with his wife and three adult children.
